Arknights: Endfield Umbral Monument - Guide to Clearing Those Forsaken by the Land
Those Forsaken by the Land series consists of three stages: Unorthodox Tactics, Survive the Gas, and Ballista and Axe. Each stage features distinct mechanics and offers two modes: Normal and Agony. Normal mode allows the use of tactical items, while Agony mode prohibits them. The Agony mode has different parameters from Normal mode, presenting a higher difficulty that demands greater team proficiency and skill. Healing items cannot be used in this mode, so it is recommended to bring a healing Operator.

1. Unorthodox Tactics
1. Mechanics: In Normal Mode, enemies are difficult to interrupt, immobile, and their attack power continuously increases (the longer the fight, the more painful!). In Hard Mode, enemies are even harder to interrupt, immobile, and their attack power increases at a significantly faster rate.

2. Number of enemies: 10 Bonekrusher Ambushers, 6 Elite Ambushers, and 3 Tunneling Nidwyrms

3. Key Points for Completion: The main challenge in this stage is that enemy attacks increase in damage over time. At the start, four Bonekrusher Ambushers will spawn simultaneously. Their mechanic is straightforward—when they start glowing red, it means they are about to attack. Simply watch for the red circles on the ground and dodge to avoid damage. When fighting the Tunneling Nidwyrm, be cautious as it sprays yellow saliva during spawning and combat (which is very painful!). The saliva creates poisonous mist upon hitting the ground, so maintain distance, especially for melee Operators. It is recommended to kite the beast while dodging and attacking, taking it down one by one.

2. Survive the Gas
1. Mechanics: In Normal Mode, the Mist continuously deals damage to Operators; when the main Operator receives healing, other Operators recover 70% of the healing amount. In Agony Mode, the toxic fog continuously deals damage to Operators; the Mist damage is enhanced, and new enemies appear; when the main Operator receives healing, other Operators recover 50% of the healing amount.

2. Enemy Count: Bonekrusher Ripptusks, Elite Ripptusks, Bonekrusher Vanguards, Bonekrusher Infiltrators, Bonekrusher Siegeknuckles. In Agony Mode, Elite Ripptusks and Elite Ambushers are replaced by Hazefyre Tuskbeasts and Bonekrusher Infiltrators.

3. Key Points for Clearing: The main challenge in this stage is the mist that continuously drains health, even if the operator remains stationary, at approximately 3% of the operator’s maximum HP per second. When the controlled operator receives healing, other Operators recover a percentage of their HP, so healing the controlled operator alone provides group healing. It is recommended to bring a healing Operator such as Ember, Snowshine, Lifeng, or Xaihi. Xaihi is highly recommended for her frequent and substantial healing output. The most challenging boss in this stage is the Bonekrusher Siegeknuckles. Bonekrusher Siegeknuckles has three skills: Skill 1: Steps forward twice, then marks a red circle and throws bombs around the ground causing small area explosions. Skill 2: Delivers three forward punches; the third punch involves a short forward dash and cannot be interrupted—avoid or dodge it. Skill 3: Charges forward with an elbow strike, dealing damage twice (the boss will mark a red circle in advance); this skill can be interrupted with abilities. In Hard Mode, multiple consecutive red circles appear; it is advised to save combo skills to interrupt these attacks.

3. Ballista and Axe
1. Mechanics: In Normal mode, the Bonekrusher Executioner and Bonekrusher Ballista cooperate in battle. In Agony mode, the Bonekrusher Executioner and Bonekrusher Ballista fight together, sharing damage when appearing simultaneously.

2. Number of enemies: Bonekrusher Executioner, Bonekrusher Ballista

3. Key Points to Clear: At the start of this stage, the Ballista will unleash a rain of arrows. Perfect dodge cannot be used here, so you must continuously move to avoid damage. This attack is also a red circle skill and can be interrupted with a skill. After dodging the arrow rain, proceed to attack the BOSS. The Executioner will grab players upon landing; you can interrupt this by using a combo skill when he glows red. His second skill is a charged slash that deals damage, with a noticeable wind-up, making it relatively easy to dodge. The third skill involves grabbing stones and throwing them forward, which is also a red circle skill and can be interrupted. When the Executioner’s HP nears zero, he will jump off the stage, and the Ballista will appear. The Ballista will start with a red circle charged forward slash, so be sure to interrupt with a skill; if not interrupted, he will quickly retreat and launch an arrow rain. Meanwhile, the Executioner will intermittently throw stones on the stage, requiring the use of perfect dodge. When the Ballista’s HP nears zero, he will also jump off the stage. Both BOSSes will then restore to half HP and simultaneously enter the battlefield. The Ballista and Executioner will coordinate arrow rain and stone attacks, with unchanged skill mechanics. Pay attention to perfectly dodging stones and moving away from the arrow rain’s damage area. Both BOSSes will share damage at this point; it is recommended to focus fire on the more agile Ballista first.
