A roundup of Wuthering Waves characters with very limited screen time!

PearcePearceFebruary 26, 2026

When they suddenly appear, you really have to ask: Who are you?

According to statistics, Wuthering Waves has currently released a total of 40 characters, including four-star, five-star, and Rovers. Among them, some characters are extremely popular, while others have experienced a resurgence in their own right with the new version.

However, there are still a few characters whose impressions among players are quite sparse, with very little screen time. Some characters can only be seen in the collection! If these characters were presented to new players, I guess most would ask: Who is this character?

1. Xiangli Yao

First, let's talk about Xiangli Yao, the character with the least screen time and the most unfamiliar to new players. As is well known, every limited character in Wuthering Waves has their own companion Story quest quest. However, if the main storyline of the current version already includes the key content of that character, there usually won't be a separate companion Story quest released.

What a coincidence—Xiangli Yao’s companion star quest is the limited-time event for the Moon-Chasing Festival. Once the event ended, Xiangli Yao seemed to vanish without a trace. A streamer once asked while browsing their favorites, “Who is Xiangli Yao?” It’s truly a pity that such a 5-star character, gifted for free in Wuthering Waves, ended up with such a tragic fate.

2. Yuanwu

The second character is Yuanwu. When new players reach the main quest to defend Jinzhou City, they will find that an unfamiliar middle-aged man has also joined the battle. Many players' first impression upon seeing him is: "Who are you, mister?"

However, Yuanwu is also available for free. It's just that this character has limited screen time in Wuthering Waves and rarely appears in the storyline. Being a four-star character, many players are unfamiliar with Yuanwu.

3. Calcharo

Next is the five-star permanent character Calcharo. Setting aside the fan-created popularity of our Calcharo, how many times have players encountered Calcharo in the current quest storyline? Calcharo also made a subtle appearance during the Moonchase Festival event, with the most recent appearance being in the final chapter of the Rinascita.

However, Calcharo's popularity outside of Wuthering Waves is indeed high. Although the character has limited screen time, various fan-made and humorous videos have left a deep impression on players, and many who don't even play Wuthering Waves are familiar with this character.

4. The Mysterious Female Agent

The fourth is a mysterious female agent whose name the editor can't recall. This character only appears in the Companion Star quests and the limited-time Moon Festival event. She is also the only character in Wuthering Waves whose signature weapon is more important than the character herself. You don't have to pull for her, but you must have her signature weapon.

One can only say that the Mysterious Female Agent was born at the wrong time. Although she saved Wuthering Waves from the brink of closure back then, issues such as her character strength, team viability, and minimal screen time caused the once wildly popular Mysterious Female Agent to gradually fade from everyone's memory.

5. Danjin

The last one is definitely our Danjin. Everyone knows Danjin relies on skill and is very strong, but have you seen Danjin’s story? It can be said that Danjin has the least screen time among the many characters in Wuthering Waves. However, although Danjin lacks a story, he does have his own PV video.

Moreover, the popularity is quite high; many players first got to know Danjin there and even gave Danjin the nickname "Little West King." However, for many new players, they don't know Danjin at all and may not even be familiar with Danjin's skill mechanics.
