Is it recommended to upgrade the Rover?
In the current version's character tier list, Rover is ranked Tier 2. Featuring dual offensive capabilities and a support form-switching mechanism, Rover functions as a powerful transitional choice. As a key story character, Rover can be fully developed with a max Resonance Chain without requiring recruitment. For new players beginning the game, this low-cost, versatile character can rapidly fill various team roles.

During the early stages of progression, the value of the Rover is particularly evident. When switching to the Havoc form, his fourth normal attack hit applies a 20% armor break effect. Paired with a critical-hit-focused build, he can instantly eliminate elite monsters of the same level, clearing mobs far more efficiently than most early four-star characters. Switching to the Aero form, his Resonance Liberation skill restores 8% of the entire team's max HP per second. At level 45, a single heal can exceed 12,000 HP, comparable to a dedicated healer. When the team requires functional support, the Rover can also play a key role. In Spectro form, the "Sky-Splitting Slash" deals a total of 400% attack damage over 5 seconds. Switching to Aero form also grants teammates a 15% attack boost. This 10-second buff perfectly suits fast-switch burst teams, easily enhancing the overall team damage output. Facing high-difficulty dungeons, the flexibility of the Havoc form is a major advantage. Skills can be freely adjusted according to dungeon scenarios, focusing fire for single-boss battles or quickly clearing waves of mobs. Whether in Whimpering Wastes or challenging dungeons, the Rover can handle complex combat demands with balanced performance.

However, with top-tier characters like the Chisa, Verina, and Shorekeeper available, the priority for developing Rovers can be appropriately lowered. These T0 characters are typically the core of their respective systems, offering superior versatility and strength. Focusing resources on them allows for faster development of top-tier combat power. If your team already has a complete setup with main DPS, sub-DPS, and healer, the functional role of Rovers will also be diminished.
